Springtime is an exciting time on our ranch because we are busy welcoming and caring for all the new little calves.

This year we have had a few sets of twins born, and two of the little guys need a bit of extra help.

We are helping bottle feed these calves with mamma's milk for a few days until they get a bit stronger and can fend for themselves again.

On Mother's Day, our niece and nephew were here for a visit, and they got to help us with a feeding.  The video below shows my nephew Bennett giving it a try!

In April, we travelled to Vancouver Island  and toured several Quality Foods stores in the area. We were on hand to do some in-store customer greeting and serve up samples of Heritage Angus Natural Beef steaks on the grill. 

The tour aimed to promote our brand which Quality Foods has carried in their stores for 5 years now.   It was an interesting weekend for us as the rancher and producer to have the chance to meet many of the customers who buy and enjoy our beef.

We've had a lot of calls from people who are interested in smaller order sizes to suit their personal needs. So, we're introducing our new "Mini Pack" option, which is approximately an 1/8 of a beef - a smaller package size that's just right for those who don't have a ton of freezer space!

Or get together with some friends and family to share a full beef or a side of beef. You'll be stocked up for a long grillin' season!

]]><![CDATA[Showing off our Natural Beef to the world in Cologne, Germany!]]>Mon, 07 Nov 2011 20:09:00 -0700http://www.flyingheart.ca/1/post/2011/11/first-post.htmlThis October, we had an amazing opportunity to travel to Cologne, Germany to represent Canada's natural beef producers at the ANUGA food show, the largest food show in the world!

Food producers from around the world were at this convention…and we were honoured to be invited to be part of a fantastic delegation from Canada's cattle industry.
