This past weekend we went back to school as we finished a Local Food Workshop at Olds College.
The 2 day session featured workshops and keynote speeches by Mr. Joel Salatin - a renowned advocate in the "local food movement" - from Polyface Farms in VI, USA. www.polyfacefarms.com
If you are interested in local foods, grass-fed beef, eggs and chickens, etc you have probably read his books or watched him on Food Inc. He has had a big impact on the local food movement in the USA and now starting in Canada. He speaks at seminars all over the USA, Canada, and Australia, traveling around 120 days out of the year.
It was great networking with other local producers as well and meeting and hearing Joel speak about his humorous stories.
Rod & I also got some one-on-one time to talk with Joel further as we gave him a ride back to the airport in Calgary! :)
